About the Artist

mcm9 13 copy

I received my formal training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and spent many years as a graphic designer and art director. I now dedicate my creative endeavors to painting. I am an award winning artist of many juried and selective art shows in the Midwest area.

My work can best be described having impressionist tendencies that incorporate rhythm and vibrancy. Each painting takes it’s own imaginative pilgrimage. I work primarily in oil media - Oil Pastel, Oil, Oil Stick and print Monotypes and enjoy the diversity of each. In my explorations of creating visual images, inspiration comes from people and nature and everything around me. The rhythms and variations of nature are ever-changing and ever-moving. The shadow, light, temperature, structure, view point and my own frame of mind at any moment make images ever-evolving. Creating paintings with harmonious color and composition is a constant goal.

I am belong to the Chicago Artist Coalition, Naperville & DuPage Art Leagues, and the Yellow House Artists.
